  • Safety Assurance: The primary purpose of the Slam Shut-off Valve is to enhance safety within gas pipeline and distribution systems. It is installed immediately after the filter and before the regulator, positioning it as a vital safety component.
  • Pressure Regulation: The regulator’s role is to maintain a specific and safe pressure level in the gas pipeline downstream. However, in rare cases, the outlet pressure of the regulator may exceed permissible limits due to various factors, including regulator malfunction, sudden demand spikes, or other anomalies.
  • Immediate Flow Interruption: In the event that the Slam Shut-off Valve senses an outlet pressure exceeding the permissible limits, it responds swiftly and decisively. It closes off the flow of gas downstream immediately, preventing the transmission of excessive pressure throughout the system.
  • Manual Reset: After the Slam Shut-off Valve has closed due to a pressure breach, it does not automatically reopen when the pressure returns to acceptable levels. Manual intervention is required to reactivate the valve. This manual reset ensures that the system is only restored to operation when it is safe to do so.
